Blog 9: My idea of what should be represented in our group presentation. (LACK OF EDUCATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES)

I.Introduction

A.  “Genius without education is like silver in the mine” –Benjamin Franklin

B.  To think how much an emphasis those third world countries that lack education could have on the world’s entirety had they education is a question often left unanswered.

C.  Throughout our presentation we hope to make the reader aware of three main points or issues:

1.    Make the reader aware of the lack of education in third world countries.

2.    Establish the negativity of lack of education, with emphasis on specific downfalls due to lack of education.

3.    Point out ways others can contribute to the best of their ability to those who are uneducated.

II.Make the reader aware of the lack of education in third world countries.

A.  Often those of us who are in prosperous nations find ourselves giving little or no attention to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

1.    In this particular presentation we establish an awareness of education:

a)    In hopes to make the reader more aware of the extent and volume of lack of education

b)    To promote education to a higher level in order to:

(1)  Raise concern to help those less fortunate
(2)  Create a sense of responsibility to the reader

III.Establish the negativity of lack of education, with emphasis on specific downfalls due to lack of education

A.  Third World Countries which are uneducated not only have negative effects on its citizens, but the world as a whole

1.    Because we are ever increasing towards a global system, it becomes difficult to rightly include those nations who do not meet generally accepted social and economic criteria.

B.  Most often those who suffer from extreme poverty, disease, and social instability are a direct result of lack of education.

1.    Lack of education affects a whole lifestyle:

a)    It does this by leaving individuals without basic knowledge of essential needs. Examples of this are

(1)  Lack of knowledge concerning basic health requirements and diseases
(2)  Lack of monetary resources due to the small number of well paying jobs offered, and lack of qualifying for the better paying jobs.

IV. Point out ways others can contribute to the best of their ability to those who are uneducated

A.  Due to the extensiveness of the lack of education everyone has a social obligation to contribute to those who suffer from the lack of education, whether it is through:

1.    Monetary means of help

2.    Staying informed of the issues associated with the lack of education

3.    Educating others on this massive problem

B.  These are just brief ways one can do his or her part to aid in this ever increasing problem.

C.  There are several charities and establishments put in place to fight for the need of education in third world countries.

D.  We also find it imperative to not only educate those in third world countries exclusively on literary terms, but to also on simplistic essentials of survival such as:

1.    Basic knowhow concerning the needs of everyday life to help improve in areas that affect health, means of survival, and basic social needs

2.    This should be made available to children at early ages-both boys and girls.

E.  By making the points given, we hope to make our reader not only aware of the problem associated with lack of education in third world countries, but also make the reader aware of how she or he can contribute likewise.
